Combined July-August bookings jumped 1.78%, while June through August rose 0.43%. But not all was rosy: mid-August dipped after the 15th holiday fizzled as a long weekend boost, and staffing shortages hit hard, with many hotels unable to fill open positions despite early-season temp worker plans falling short. The hotel association is now pushing for smarter worker quotas and demand distribution to keep momentum alive beyond the peak weeks.
