What Happened to SAYLOR HAYES? The Tracker, The Water & The Unanswered Questions

Five-year-old Saylor Hayes disappeared on August 30, 2026, while her family was vacationing near Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Saylor was autistic, nonverbal and known to wander, which was why she had been enrolled in Project Lifesaver and assigned a tracking transmitter. But when Saylor vanished, rescuers couldn't detect its signal.

Her body was recovered from nearby water the following morning. Both parents have been charged with unlawfully placing a child at risk or wilfully abandoning a child, but neither has been charged with causing Saylor's death. With her official cause of death still undetermined, major questions remain.
