South Korea's Salmokji Reservoir, located in Yesan County, South Chungcheong Province, has become one of the country's most famous paranormal locations. Built in 1982 for agricultural water, the reservoir submerged an older village and later became associated with legends of mul gwisin, or water ghosts. Its most famous story follows a woman known as Jihee, who claimed that in February 2011 her GPS repeatedly directed her toward the reservoir before she experienced disturbing phone calls, missing time and a mysterious red-eyed woman.

The story became nationally famous after appearing on MBC's Midnight Horror Story in 2022. Salmokji's reputation grew further...
