In a remarkable display of bravery, three individuals from Dawson Creek, British Columbia, received Canadas top honors for their actions during a vicious black bear attack in October 2022. Leosette Hansen, Wennali Canoy, and Adrian Bartolome were awarded the Star of Courage and Medal of Bravery for saving Hansens friend Analyn Bartolome from the bear on Bear Mountain ski trails.
