Brother's Fears Before Nottingham Killer's Attacks
Published: May 13, 2026
Duration: 1:15
Elias Calocane, brother of Nottingham killer Valdo Calocane, testified at a public inquiry about his fears for his brothers life. Valdo, diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, had been sending troubling messages to Elias since 2020, including references to violence and murder. Elias compiled a document of their chats, hoping it would help doctors understand Valdos condition, but he only visited him twice between 2020 and 2023. Elias learned about Valdos diagnosis four months after his attacks, which killed three people and injured others. Valdo is now on an indefinite hospital order.
