The White House says the U.S.-Iran war is “terminated” for the purposes of an approaching congressional war powers deadline, even as President Donald Trump huddles with military leaders over potential new strikes. Oil briefly spiked past $126 a barrel, pushing U.S. inflation to its highest year-on-year rise since May 2023. Trump signs an end to the 11-week partial government shutdown, restoring funding to most of Homeland Security. And in Australia hundreds clash with police demanding retribution for the murder of a five-year-old Indigenous girl.
