Thursday Kickback has been a part of the fabric of 89 7FM since 2016. Hosts Rhonda and Alan play a variety of great music from all genres from the 60’s to now, plus a number of interactive listener segments. These segments include a weekly theme (which includes listener requests), two feature artists, jokes, a good news story, “Believe it or not” and “On this Day in Music History”. A jam-packed Thursday Kickback to enjoy!

In Good Company has been on-air at 89 7FM for the last two years and is hosted by the wonderful Lisa Evans. Lisa focuses the program on the community and regularly has two or three live on-air interviews with special guests on various topics, from the environment to sustainability, most notably the arts. Lisa also plays great music of course, particularly music from the 80’s to today.

Playing a diverse selection of listening tunes (usually from the 70’s to the 00’s) that you will not hear on commercial stations, together with the odd dad joke, traffic and news, you have a new safe space for your Tuesday. The Morning Show with Bill Crowe has been on air for decades and is sure to liven up your Tuesday morning as only “Uncle Bill” can. Bill is a station Life Member and has an extensive knowledge of music from all genres and tastes as well as a sense of humour that will have you laughing! Tune in and listen out for his regular “UFO” segment (Unappreciated, Forgotten and Overlooked) where he plays tracks from artists that fit the UFO theme. Tuesday mornings with “Uncle Bill”, why would you miss it!

The Breakfast Show with Andrew is the only way you will want to start your day. Andrew is new to 89 7FM and provides a fresh bright take on the breakfast program. Andrew plays the best tunes as you get ready to tackle the day ahead. Tune in every Monday evening with Gordon Allen, and the Sports Mix team to hear all the latest Rugby League news, views, stories, previews and reviews of the local men’s and women’s competitions, hot goss about the NRL and all that’s happening in the English Super League. Sports Mix will also focus on junior sport competitions for the 6 to 18 age range. The program offers local sporting clubs, groups and associations the opportunity to promote news and results. Derek Cromb has been presenting Play the Blues since 2001 and is a station Life Member. Join Derek each week as he presents his feature artist and plays four tracks from their new or recent album together with the best blues tracks in town. Regular segments include “Something Old, Something New” where he plays the original version of a track followed by a new or recent cover. Derek is sure to play music from new and exciting artists that you will enjoy.

Chris Webb has been presenting the Wall of Sound since 2001 and is a station Life Member. Affectionately known as “The Local Yokel,” Chris explores all music genres, playing anything from anywhere! You will hear tracks you may not have heard before, as you broaden your music knowledge, as well as hearing some classics you’re sure to know and love. The “King” for Chris is of course, Elvis Presley.

Join Jon with Backstage Pass: A Radio Show that will grow and evolve on 89.7FM We will focus on an album or artist and play some banging tunes, talk about the back story, what was happening at the time and the stories behind the tunes Kick off at 8pm with final whistle at 10pm, and filling in for a while whilst the regular host takes a break….

Country Roads is a blend of country and folk music and all related sub genres. Steve plays an eclectic mix from decades past and today’s great sounds throughout the course of his two-hour program. Regular segments include “On this Day in Country Music” where he plays tracks with historical significance and his trademark segment “Odd but Even” where he ventures into another musical genre and plays a track that is odd in nature but even in quality. A John Denver track is usually also on the playlist.
