Mastication equipment will be operating on the Prescott National Forest over the next six weeks as part of a 603‑acre community wildfire protection project west of Blue Ranch and east of the Quail Springs neighborhoods, just outside the town of Cottonwood. The effort is a collaborative partnership between the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, Salt River Project, and the U.S. Forest Service.
